Children’s T-Shirt Design Contest

We’re inviting children connected to our programs to take part in a creative opportunity: designing a T-shirt that may be featured as part of a limited-edition design!

This is a chance for children to express themselves through art and share what matters most to them.

Who can participate

This contest is open to children aged 0–12 years who are clients of our programs (current or past).

Entries will be grouped into the following age categories:

  • Ages 0–4

  • Ages 5–8

  • Ages 9–12

What to create

Children are invited to create artwork that reflects their ideas, imagination, and experiences.

This could include artwork inspired by:

  • What family means to you

  • What makes you feel safe, happy, or loved

  • Merrymount’s rainbow

  • My best day at Merrymount

  • A summer day

Artwork must be on an 8.5 x 11 letter-size paper or canvas.

How to enter

Participants may submit their artwork electronically by emailing funddevevelopment@merrymount.on.ca or in person by dropping off at our reception (1064 Colborne St.)

All styles are welcome, including simple drawings and imaginative designs. Artwork will be reviewed and selected by Merrymount staff.

Please include the child’s name, age, t-shirt size and contact information on the back or attached to the drawing.

Prize

Winners from each age group will have their artwork featured (or adapted into final design) on a limited-edition T-shirt design and will receive a printed shirt with their artwork.

All participants will receive a custom acknowledgement graphic as a keepsake recognizing their contribution.

Submission deadline

Deadline to apply is 9:00am on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Winners will be announced and recognized at our AGM on Monday, June 22 at 3:30pm.

Please note

  • Each child may submit one entry

  • All submissions must be original artwork created by the child, and may not include copied content, fan art, or characters and materials from movies, books, games, cartoons, or other existing sources

  • Artwork should include bold lines and colours (3-dimensional materials such as stickers, sequins, and other craft supplies are not permitted)

  • Artwork might be altered for printing purposes

  • By submitting, families consent to the artwork being used for promotional and fundraising purposes

  • If you have any questions please email funddevevelopment@merrymount.on.ca

We are so excited to see how children express their ideas of family, hope, and connection through their creativity. Every submission helps tell an important story.

Thank you for participating!
