Drop-in and Support Programs

Our drop-in and support programs often take place in the community to make it easier for you to find a program that suits you and your family’s needs.

Mutual Aid Parenting Program (MAPP)

This program provides support for parents of children of all ages. MAPP is a self-help group where you can meet parents with a shared concern, worry or experience and come together to get help, give help and learn to help each other and yourself.

This group is offered in various locations in the community. For more information and to find a MAPP group in your community, please contact 519-434-6848 ext. 408.

Community Action Program for Children (CAPC)

A Community Action Program for Children (CAPC) promotes the healthy development of young children from birth to age 6 who face challenges such as poverty or isolation that put their health at risk. CAPC activities are provided in partnership with community agencies, and focus on improving parenting skills and parent-child relationships, decreasing isolation, and increasing children’s self-esteem. CAPC programs actively involve the people they serve in planning, managing, developing, delivering, and evaluating their programs. Activities may include nutritional support and collective kitchens, parenting classes and drop-in groups, and child health and development activities.

Families and Infants Together (FIT)

Families and Infants Together (FIT) provides enhanced service coordination to families with infants (0-2 years) identified by the Children’s Aid Society of London and Middlesex as being at high risk of the infant being removed from parental care. The goal is for the infant to remain in their parent’s care, and ultimately, to thrive in their family environment with the support of a coordinated, seamless, collaborative system of services.
