Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Merrymount. Volunteers help ensure that we can move our children’s futures and our community forward.

FAMILY BEACH FEST VOLUNTEER

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to assist with activities at our first-ever Family Beach Fest. This family-focused event will transform six indoor beach volleyball courts into a fun, sand-filled play space where children aged approximately 2–10 and their families can trade in their snow boots for sandy bare feet and enjoy a variety of beach-themed activities.

Activities may include beachball volleyball, cornhole, sandcastle building, giant yard games, beach soccer, and more. The event will operate in a drop-in format, allowing children and families to move freely between activity courts and explore at their own pace.

Event day volunteers will play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for all attendees. Responsibilities may include:
• Welcoming and directing families upon arrival
• Explaining activities and encouraging participation
• Assisting with activity facilitation and court supervision
• Monitoring equipment and activity areas
• Supporting light setup and takedown as needed

No prior experience is required. Enthusiasm, reliability, and a positive attitude are the most important qualities we are looking for. Volunteers will work alongside Merrymount staff and fellow community members, with guidance provided on-site. Light physical activity such as standing, walking on sand, and assisting with equipment setup may be involved.

Individuals with experience working with young children, serving as camp counselors, leading recreational programming, or coaching/playing volleyball or soccer are especially encouraged to volunteer. Applicants with an up-to-date Vulnerable Sector Check are also highly encouraged to reach out.

We are also seeking volunteers with experience in:
• Photography
• Face painting
• Balloon animal making
• Magic or interactive entertainment
• Other children’s programming or performances

This is a great opportunity to earn volunteer hours, gain event and recreation experience, and help create a joyful community experience for local families. All proceeds from the event directly support Merrymount’s Child Mental Wellness Program.
