Merrymount Receives $20,000 Grant from Desjardins

SUPPORTING CHILDREN’S MENTAL WELLNESS

We are thrilled to announce that Merrymount Children’s Centre has received a $20,000 grant from Desjardins Ontario Credit Union, in support of our Child Mental Wellness Program (CMWP).

This funding will help us continue providing critical mental wellness services for children from September 1, 2025, to September 1, 2026. Desjardins’ generous contribution supports children experiencing, or at risk of, mental wellness challenges by enabling us to offer licensed, 24/7 care in a therapeutic, trauma-informed environment where every child feels seen and supported.

Our Child Mental Wellness Program is designed to promote social, emotional, behavioural, and mental wellness, with services tailored to each child’s age and needs through two streams: Sunrise and Skyscrapers. Sunrise is available Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. (with flexibility) for children 0-5 years of age, while Skyscrapers is available 24/7 for children 4-12 years of age.

Within our Skyscrapers program, we offer 18 beds and a team of qualified staff who create personalized care plans for each child. These plans focus on emotional regulation, resiliency, and building life skills, all in a setting rooted in understanding and acceptance.

Their contribution strengthens a vital program at Merrymount and makes a real difference in the lives of children and families in our community.
