Prenatal Parenting Course
“Attachment; It’s about the relationship”
This eight week prenatal program is designed to give parents information before the baby arrives, that will help them to establish that vital attachment relationship.

Mothering and Depression
This educational group, facilitated by Dianne Prato, is for mothers who have experienced one or more depressions. Mothers will learn about their illness and develop skills to foster their own wellness and reduce the impact on their children. Call Wendy at ext. 274 to register.

Group Triple P
This evidence-based program will help parents acquire knowledge and strategies, while exploring what is positive parenting, causes of child behaviour problems, promoting children’s development and managing misbehaviour. Contact Wendy at ext. 274 or Susan at ext. 278 for more information.

Don’t Make Me Go
This 6 week concurrent program, will support parents and their young children, to reduce anxiety about entering the school system. Call Sarah at ext. 280 for more information.


S.I.P.P (Strategies in Positive Parenting)
This open, ongoing support group, is designed for parents involved with the Children’s Aid Society. In a goal setting discussion, parents explore their own issues and the needs of their family.
Mondays 1:00-3:00 pm.

Parents' Care
This ongoing support group was created for custodial parents with minimal to no CAS involvement. With a focus on goal setting, parents will have the opportunity to address specific challenges related to their parenting.

Grandparent Support
This 8 session program will offer support and address issues that are relevant to meeting the needs of children, placed into their grandparent’s care. The grandchildren's group runs concurrently for children 6-12 years of age.

On Your Own: Parenting After Separation and Divorce
This program addresses how separation and divorce affects children aged 6 to 12 years of age and discusses strategies for a healthy adjustment to the changes in the family. The Mom’s House Dad’s House runs concurrent to the parent’s program.

Parenting Preschoolers

Parenting Preschoolers, a 14 session program, will provide parents with the skills to effectively meet the needs of their young children, while enhancing the attachment security for the child. When numbers warrant, a concurrent preschool children's program will be available

Building Families: The Early Years
This intensive twenty-five session program, is for parents working with the Children’s Aid Society. The program addresses effective life skills for parents, and parenting skills for building a secure relationship for a young child, while providing an atmosphere that supports the child’s development.

Right from the Start
Right from the Start is an 8 week program where parents explore the importance of their role during their child’s first 18 months, and offers a practical guide to developing close attachments and positive parent/child interactions.

Parenting School Aged Children
Through discussions, use of printed material and video segments, parents will focus on establishing effective communication, developing constructive discipline strategies and building their child’s self esteem, to support their child at home and in the school environment. A concurrent 5 week program for children 6-12 years old called Kids being Kids is available.

Upon completion of this program, parents may choose to continue on into the following parent/child programs:
  • The Temper Tricking Club
    This program is aimed at building family strategies for managing temper. Parents and children will examine the effects of temper on family/school life and explore ways to “trick” temper, through discussion and art.
  • When Your Child has ADHD
    Parents will use videos and discussion to increase their understanding of ADHD and consider strategies to help their child cope at home and school. Children will participate in a self esteem and social skills program.
